Things Hidden #11 - Peter Thiel... Antichrist or Katechon?

Greetings from Austin! I welcome the opportunity to bring to you the eleventh post of Things Hidden! Episode #11 of the Things Hidden podcast is out now!

Episode #11 begins phase 2 of Things Hidden. The first 10 episodes were scripted lectures that served as the introductory foundation for Things Hidden. In those 10 episodes, we covered faith and then covered each of the “petals” of the Things Hidden logo - religion, physics, evolution, consciousness, philosophy and technological innovation.

This next phase will be a series of reaction/commentary discussions on other people’s work that has been impactful for me on my journey over the last few years. That is still the plan, but first we’re making a quick pitstop to discuss a Wired article that came out a few weeks ago. The Wired article is titled “The Real Stakes, and Real Story, of Peter Thiel’s Antichrist Obsession”.

I was fascinated by the Wired article for a bunch of reasons. The article strongly dovetails into many of the topics we have discussed at length in prior episodes of Things Hidden. The article has a heavy dose of mimetic theory, a heavy dose of technological innovation and a heavy dose of Biblical scriptural interpretation. All that fit so well into Things Hidden that I felt like we had to stop and take the time to discuss it at length.

There was no script for this episode, so I don’t have anything to include here in the blog post, other than a link to the YouTube video. At some point I will start writing blogs that are separate and standalone from the podcasts, but for now I have a pretty full plate. So I’ll just invite you to watch the YouTube (or Spotify or Apple).
