Things Hidden #13 - Understanding The Importance Of Jesus Christ THROUGH Bart Ehrman

Greetings from Austin! I welcome the opportunity to bring to you the thirteenth post of Things Hidden! Episode #13 of the Things Hidden podcast is out now!

Episode #13 is a review of a debate featuring New Testament scholar Bart Ehrman. Bart is one of the foremost authorities on the New Testament alive today. He has written numerous best sellers, include “Misquoting Jesus” and “How Jesus Became God”.

Bart’s perspective is particularly interesting because he was a devout evangelical Christian from his teenage years, who was taught and believed in the inerrancy of the Bible. He went to Bible College and then got his PhD from Princeton Theological Seminary in New Testament Studies. While in Seminary, through study, Bart came to realize the Bible was not inerrant. He continued being a believing Christian for another ~15 years, before losing his faith entirely. He currently an atheist/agnostic… So he’s a former devout evangelical Christian, who is now an atheist/agnostic, who also happens to know more about the New Testament than pretty much anyone. I find this to be a fascinating perspective.
